This all leads up to a civil war between vampires and humans, which breaks out at the end of Season 1. The two main characters actually break up. However, they reconcile in Season 2 and work together to bring an end to the war. The girl isn't a weak "damsel in distress" at this point: she's a strong warrior who is second-in-command on the Human side. After that, Season3 reverts back to the typical school setting, but humans are treated as equals with Vampires, rather than lesser beings.

The whole story isn't too unique, but the artwork for this series is beautiful, and the author does a good job of character development, in my humble opinion.

[/In the first place, this prince is just a powerful, abusive, immature, impulsive, pervert who cannot comprehend his feelings, and at the same time while hurting her, wants to protect her. WHAT? There are way too many contradictions for me to be happy with this character. Not wanting to criticize the author, but it's like she smashed together the worst aspects of a cold prince and an selfish asshole.
Second, the female character is nothing special. She's strong, I will give her that. But it doesn't make me happy to see her so powerless in her situation. LIKE SO MANY OTHER CHARACTERS WHO ALL END UP WITH THEIR TORMENTOR ANYWAYS. It's really predictable, and so is the plot. People get jealous, harm her, or are planning to harm her, she's rescued by the prince, who, in turn becomes a tsundere jerk, and leaves her, humiliated. It's probably going to be like this until romance starts to actually develop. And it will only be the girl falls in love, or appears to be the only one, and is insecure about her relationship with the guy. Then after some bumps along the way and a couple more schemes of plotting people, they get married or something.
Maybe I'll pick it back up when it's like chapter 50 or something and hope she's developed some sort of super power, the prince grows up and develops a conscience, or she becomes totally badass.]
Sorry for the rant, and I apologize if I this contradicts with your opinion, but I'm so tired of seeing this type of story everywhere.
