Ch. 4 - Unexpected Intervention

@Riger I'was asking you a simple question, is that hard to understand? You took that as a personal attack? But whatever since you decided to block me that makes you the winner obviously, cause it takes real balls to talk shit and then block responses amirite?

@sunsun
You not even seeing the part that made me say that says quite a bit about your responses, lol.
The condescension that is in the first line, literally attached to my name, is what I was referring to. How hard is that to understand? (See what I did there? Since I apparently had to spell it out?)
That's fine, though. Not sure if blocking you blocks you from seeing my posts, though. So you may not even see it ๐Ÿ˜›

@Riger the 2nd part of my comment wasn't directed at you, how about you stop taking it as a personal attack?

Wasn't even talking to you or about you but "Stop being a prick"

So, if the skill tree is connected to the 'soul', he could theoretically survive anything but a one-hit kill. Even if knocked unconscious. Since he 'watered' his skill tree in a sort of astral form, and he can use 'Restore' on the skill tree, it should mean as long as his 'soul' still exists he can 'Restore' himself.

Hahaha... So cute

“It’s a woman!” - you better put a ring on it ASAP, Sora. Their relationship makes me so happy.

@SunSun
You don't have to be a prick in your responses.
Just because the pool grows with age, that doesn't mean that age is the only pre-requisite. If that were true, there wouldn't be gaps in total energy pools between people of the same age, regardless of their abilities. Physical age being a prerequisite would also have to mean that the pool is physical and in the body, somewhere. Rather than metaphysical. Since magic is inherently metaphysical...
He literally just restored ONLY the metaphysical skill tree without touching the flesh. Which means he should be able to do the opposite just fine.
Avatar
@Riger

Mana pool is tied to physical age. Restoring his body to lower the age would reduce his mana pool. How hard is that to understand?

We also don't know how much mana increases with skill use.

@nikonekonya

Either some people don't actually read all the text or the art and skim through everything, are reading an English scanlation despite English being a second-language, or they live in an area where they'd never had to worry about someone fucking them over cause of jealousy, or having a young, attractive female helping them out.

@WhimsiCat

Just a correction, he doesn't have any other skill. He wasn't saving his skill points on purpose, he literally had only 1 branch on his skill tree to spend points on.

But it seems from lvl 9 to lvl 10 takes 10,000 points, and he has no combat skills, and slimes give him 1 point each.
Avatar
Not sure why people were so confused about this. They have a guy who's been hunting nothing but beginner area (like, right out side the gate beginner) slimes and hasn't been able to do anything else. He doesn't group up or party with anyone, he gets in small fights with other adventurers, and even the people at the guild (like the new receptionist) don't even think of him very highly.

Then one day he suddenly shows up with a woman 25+ years younger than him who joins the guild with him. She only sticks by him and after adventuring with him they're pulling in enough that it would normally take him several days to do.

Of course it's going to look suspicious as fuck, and if the guard was a real asshole about it he could have said that the MC could be exploiting/manipulating her... even as far as going as insinuating something about him being a dirty old man.
Avatar
@Meridis
Then that doesn't make much sense. Since he can pick and choose what EXACTLY gets restored, he should be able to restore his body without touching the skill tree or mana pool. Which would end up giving him one hell of a pool 500 years down the line, lol.

Please Stop.

@alidan : No idea, I only read the first 4 translated wn chapters, and decided to wait for a buffer to build up. But considering the guild did not help him power level his skill (and if it known that his was the type to become OP at max level, which Sora's grandfather did, they should) I do not put much faith in them. But the trope seems to be to treat unknown skills as trash until proven otherwise as opposed to properly studying them and pushing the limits of what they can do (though I have seen a couple series here they do the investigation properly).

@Riger

it's another one of the things that's explained in detail in the novel but glossed over here. Using the skills doesn't just burn through your hourly usages but also uses mana. Mana can be increased by using it but your pool grows as you age. He doesn't want to age down because that would reduce the number of times he could use restore without rest. Also, he clearly explains there that he's pretty much immortal. Not only could he make himself fully younger but can undo hunger and exhaustion so he never needs to eat or sleep again.
Avatar
@sjmcc13 if thats true, how long does the plot revolve around that level of retardation?
Avatar
@WhimsiCat I see thanks for the clarification

Yeah I saw another post that its an actual rule because previous newbies were exploited, manga could've done a better job explaining it

But also couldn't she have just spoken up

They should just leave there since that town is corrupt anyway.
Thanks mangasushi!

@Niemand
'Look' younger and 'be' younger are different.
Also, I had forgotten that tidbit. Whether because of how many I follow, or just the gap between the chapters, I'm not sure.

if i were the MC i'd rewind myself to a younger age and start anew.... NG+

so they abused an anti-abuse law to try and abuse him?
