I get why she doesn't want anything to happen to him. So far he's the only other link to her own world. But even still, keeping him close to her is a dumb move. He's still a stranger at the end of the day.

I get the fact that peeps dropped this because of how she easily trusted a stranger but like a comment said before, she thinks that this guy may be of help in returning to her world. Also, she is able to empathize with him (and sees him as some helpless person) since she knows how hard it must be especially since they're in the same situation (though he's just faking it). I really want to see whether he'll grow to like her (though highly unlikely). I'm pretty sure this guy is one of those short time villains that only get to do something once and get caught sooner or later.

There's also the possibility he came to the future from the ancient world after something went on with emperor, and then somehow came back to the ancient world after a while... Though I think the theory that he stole it from legit isekai person and then killed them is more likely... o3o

I totally think this dude is an assassin who stole stuff off a legit isekai'd customer service rep and memorized that phrase to pass as a 'wondrous foreigner'.
Probably killed the poor person that stumbled into a strange land too.
I hope this super surprise plot twist resolves quickly sigh.
