I could understand if I had said definitively that you were wrong and my supposition was right, but that's not what happened. And yes, I know HnI is pretty popular. Very few works would make it 126+ volumes without having some popularity. Heck, I personally read the first 80 volumes years ago before I took a bit of a break from reading manga.

Please remember that Hajime no Ippo is a pretty popular manga and that it would be no surprise whatsoever if it was to be referenced here, as it has been in other manga before as well.
