Gonna be complete honest yeah it was sexist chapter even if deido just see people as object for art it doesn't change the fact its sexist due the mangaka writting, his story telling is amazing but he fails at not objective women i mean even in past chapters there were small fanservice scenes which Kinda ruin a little the feelings of some scenes and you can't help but roll your eyes because thats really cringe

That makes a lot of sense. The only thing I'd disagree with is that it makes the chapter worse. I think it's pretty clear that Deido is not supposed to be seen as a good person. And the fact that he sees everything (including people) as merely objects to be used for his art, is a really interesting trait for a villain.

He cares about literally nothing except the visual world. Anything he can't use for art, he doesn't give a shit about. That includes the feelings of others. So imo your uncomfortable-ness during this chapter was because the standard way to draw from live reference (especially in Deido's time) is to draw nude women, so the objectification was limited to women. But I am positive Deido is treating them no different to how he'd treat any other human.

@MisterSteak the chapter made me feel uncomfortable and sexist seems like the best word to describe my feelings about it. its not sexualized yes, but still objectifiying. the two male characters talk about the aesthetics of the womens bodies and how they need to be saved just for that. i mean i get takoha was just saying that because hed thought it would work on deido but its still gross and reinforces the idea that women should be valued primarily for their bodies. if youre comparing it to other manga then of course theres so much worse things out there but i dont read those. anyway i still really like this manga, just had to call this chapter out because it made me feel bad.

I guess that Soldier isn´t aware that Deido can see everything that happens in Souboutei, he most likely will get punishment.

Takoha will almost certainly be healed after this, but I like how he managed to use Deido's appreciation for art to get a chance to save her. Does anyone else hope they'll actually do some figure drawing after this?
