@Ramanash The issue is that it would be equally expected if Obi became an infernal and had to be released by Shinra. Becoming Shinra's fuel to rid the evangelists.

There is no story on earth that has a unique plot anymore because any twist or turn you can think of has been done in some shape or form. To complain about it now is a bit silly I feel. And one could equally argue that it may not be boring if Obi becomes a pillar because we may see some interesting battle combinations with him, Shinra and Arthur.

There are many routes this story could take. I wouldn't shut off a route just because you may find it uninteresting. It could turn out to be well done.

I've been afraid of this happening ever since the start of the series.

Two translations of this chapter i have read, and i still do not understand Burns reasoning, neither how it has to do with gerontocracy.

They're probably going to find the way to turn infernals back into humans with Obi, since Shinra's mom is still out there. Either that or Obi gets flame powers.

Asking the guy with 1 eye to open his "eyes" lmao. He only has one left he can't open his eyes, only his eye.

I didn't expect to have to use google this chapter, but I didn't know what Gerontocracy meant. After looking it up it shouldn't have been hard to decipher, I'm too tired. No way Obi goes down in flames like this, in fact I'd be more surprised if he did.

Guaranteed Obi will be 'compatible' with the bug and join the Adolla Flame club.

@nakanowatari The next chapter's title is "Amour of Steel" so I wouldn't worry just yet. There's Burns' metaphorical "devout" armour of steel and probably Obi's physical skin that'll probably serve as his armour of steel.
