@welcome2atlantis LOL I had the same thoughts .... @Lan IIRC you would get a stick or a chunk of charcoal and dump in water then boil it, after boiling removal charcoal and have the patient drink the remaining water. It's sort of like a tea .... The same used to be done to rusty nails, the doctors would do this to increase the amount of iron in their patients. It was done to try and treat anemia. Thanks for the chapter! Granted snapping the coin was impressive, but it seems doubtful that so much other metal was mixed in to make it snap rather than bend. After all, anything that is too pure gold could be malformed just from everyday handling as it's the most malleable of all metals so it wouldn't be as pure gold as possible. However, to be considered a gold coin the amount of gold in it would have to be above a certain percentage as well. I'm curious as to why Kristoph views her so highly as they should have had little interaction or been close enough to have seen and observed each other. Granted he was probably in charge of security for the first prince and could have seen her interactions and actions around the prince while appearing as just another faceless guard at his post, but something seems to have sparked his personal interest. Seems the MC has gone from one troublesome fiance to him and two very interested potential suitors in just a few chapters. Hopefully they find a way to deal with the idiotic selfish three dukes without war breaking out, hopefully with someone in the one or all of the dukes' forces who aren't so blindly loyal to him/them that they overlook treason committed for selfish reasons with the civilians who are supposed to be protected being conscripted or killed. |

First rule of chemistry, gold does not snap, it bends... thats what 'malleable' means... |

For someone that skilled/strong, he didn't double-check if he had spies following? ๐ |

@ironclad Idk but maybe because they were meant for monetary value and that was a cheaper gold coin? |

@Ironclad cool, where do you get EDTA? Or do you just want her to stick charcoal down their throats? |

It's strange that a gold coin would shatter rather than bend. It must be very low karat. @Psychronia At the very least a nurse would understand you can neutralize poisons with chelators and diluting/purging them with diuretics. @Lan Charcoal might work. Last edited 4 mo ago by Ironclad. |

@Pahn I mean, so far she has performed basic textbook CPR and checked someone’s pulse. Even her line of thought trying to figure out the cause of the illness by deduction is something all nurses and medical professionals are trained to do. I think everything we’ve seen from her so far is quite realistic. |

I'm not going to lie, it's not like nurses are that important and omnipotent. |

that gold coin made me react more than I thought ๐ no, seriously, after all those movies, mangas or even videos on youtube about metal, you managed to make a gold coin shattered in pieces from a press on two sides... damn genius ๐

Ah yeah, medic saint again, she will be even more popular after this... And a lot of people will probably want to see her dead too, because she can easily become a pain for them. |

Actually wondering how much that coin is worth, for him to be able to break it in half and not even care for a *gold* coin... and it's probably an epidemic, as already mentioned, not the alcohol seeing as the MC is fine :v unrelated to this chapter, but is the king an airhead? :v I mean, he should know things wouldn't go well, and then insisted on the engagement... |

My first instinct was poison too. Since they gave it a name and it seems infectious, I'm thinking it's either a monster or a disease. Not sure what being a nurse can do against the former, but I'm sure she'll figure this out and turn out to be some kind of miracle worker as a result. Regarding the gold coin...I guess it's not actually made of too much gold? What metal currencies would snap like that under pressure? Anyway, it looks to me like the knight is here for her, and the flags are only gonna increase once she saves him. |
