Felmina seems like a nice girl but a bit of a muscle brain. Like a talented individual who also trains hard but is good due to experience and instinct rather than deliberate planning or thought. Like Liza from the Death March to Another World LN who is able to use a spell known as magic edge to strengthen her teeth so can chew anything and her spear to pierce anything but describes it as when the magic goes bamph you have to go oompph as the best description on how she does it.

I wonder if the opponents are given any instructions like draw out the fight and teach what student's doing wrong before beating them or anything. Seems like the transfer exam where the goal for this is also to test student's mettle, endurance, strategizing, and ability to bounce back. Otherwise it's throwing the low end group and lower half of middle group to be crushed by the high group and elites of middle group. Basically having the worst fight the best. On the other hand maybe it's like the situation in various sports where have a good team play against a younger, obviously weaker (or held back,) opponent(s) to gain experience, team work, identify and work out flaws, and pride for winning. Like having a new high school team play against a new junior high team or race horses doing practice runs with the other horses who are held back deliberately and forced to lose.

@GrimThoughts There are more than 3 heroes and he didn't thrash any of the heroes. Test only asked for the name of three heroes rather than all the heroes indicating at least four or more heroes in the party. Also, MC has only met two heroes and hasn't fought either one, just various monsters, a dragon and the Demon Lord. Although considering he one punched the Demon Lord after it strengthened itself over the years while the heroes took several days as a group to fight the weaker version he probably could thrash one of the heroes if they did fight.

Seeing how the strongest of the three heroes got totally thrashed by our MC I’m not expecting anything of this girl. The two of them have good synergy as characters, though, which is rare in most isekais and much appreciated lol

They don't actually expect him to ever get mana, so they're very prepared for him to fail and become extremely depressed when he realizes he can't get mana
