That competition was pretty convenient, to say the least. I kinda wanted them to test their skills during the competition instead of being purely fan service. Hopefully we get more development later on.

Maybe they were trying to get LP while also raising money to dispel the curse and that contest conveniently got them both at once, but if that was the case guild girl should've mentioned something about the money, as it stands it seems like they just did it for the LP and got money as a bonus.
