as an Indonesian who lived on Java Island, sometimes I found myself comparing/changing the English translation to Indonesian/Javanese and found that the phrase is better (all of our third person are gender neutral and Javanese in particular have several tiers from polite language to rude language, just like Japanese language)

As a proofreader, I find it a mix of the vaugeries of the Japanese language where the meaning of a phrase depends on the who, what and where it's being said (the language is not jammed with superfulous pronouns and adjectives, like English, that would make it easier to tell who was saying what to whom) and translators who are not native born English speakers that aren't familiar with all the nuances of the English language. Of course, even native born English translators don't always get it right, either...
