I have had the idea for a while - since initially mentioning Zero's role in the Mermaid War - that this role is the real reason he quit, rather than merely getting bored. It clearly left a very bitter taste in his mouth, and created a big disillusionment about what "heroes" are.

TBH I'm somewhat disapointed that it was not some of the misfortune antics that surrounds Thirteen that saved him this time. OTOH you could argue that Carue luck is nowhere to be seen , now that THE GOD OF DEATH ( really? Someone wants to be metal about the names :D ) came around :p

@lucianone The previous villains were one-dimensional assholes while this guy seems justified in his anger and is doing what he thinks is best for his people so I'll guess the admiral will turn out to be the one-dimensional asshole main villain.
