About time.. the evil god shows its intentions. I was getting concerned the author was trying to make us feel bad for this god.. Cause it wasnt working on me. I guessing Lina is going to became a fallen angel now ? Betrayed by her god. This could be useful. Some fallen angels are sexy. ^_~ mmmmm those black wings. I'd touch them. |

@Shrooman The reason is usually fear, the whole possibility that someone could reach that level probably is quite worrisome for a godlike being and unless they're benevolent they prefer to nip it in the bud ... unfortunately the bud here already has reached murderplant level. Another reason could be that they have reason to suspect he would oppose them in the future, for example they plan something that could harm people close to him or damage his lifestyle in his case. On a side note I suspect he plans the usual bad stuff ... like use the Girl as a Bomb to take him out (and kinda ignoring the fact that that would probably seriously piss him off) |

Stereotypical foolishness - "If he's not with us, he's against us" This ideology completely ignores the existence of neutral parties. |

wont beating a pretty high level angel boost the low level but stupid high stat growth guy's level and possibly instantly level him out of gods reach this seems like a dumb ass plan like the god deserves to die for that |

What a hostile god, lol. S/he abducts them and makes them fight for her, then when she missed one (presumably out of carelessness) and he is becoming too powerful with abilities s/he bestowed upon him anyway, she wants to off him to prevent potential future threats. That seems like a good way to make a self-fulfilling prophecy. |

@Leo80221 I think your example is appropriate. I would still disagree about the applicability of it, though. The issue is that the god has been monitoring Yato for at least a while (via Lina, apparently). It isn't clear exactly how much the god knows (since it doesn't seem like he is infallible), but I would expect the god to know that Yato isn't the kind of person to just kill Lina just because she's bothersome. I think that's all reasonable there. If that's the case, then, I was responding to the people who thought the god was just using Yato as a way to get rid of the liability that is Lina. Such a plan would never work. No way in hell is Yato ever going to actually kill Lina, and the god should know that much, at least. Therefore, while your example makes sense, I don't think it's applicable at all because my response was just about the god "disposing of" Lina or such. |

@givemersspls Isn't it just that the god is way too overcautious? It believes that the MC might one day realize that he's even more powerful than the gods, which he will be eventually, and try to take over, even though the MC has shown no interest in power or influence or money. It's like trying to attack another country because you think that they'll attack you first if you don't do something. It's not really the best idea when it's probably gonna bite you in the ass. I feel like there's a better example I could use that has to do with nobles attacking each other or plotting each other's downfall or something, but I can't quite think of it. |
