I'm not a big fan of chewing something I've just regurgitated.

The male teacher got a moment of kindness in a disrespectful, disgusting way.

They could spare some of that to 16.

I always thought you were supposed to do that with gumballs, otherwise, why are they presented in the same fashion and approximate size as other undeniable swallowables?

Side note: Did a quick search online for consensus: "You're supposed to chew them, not swallow them." and "Don't chew them after swallowing." are popular answers.
