@15avaughn— Either the volume number or the chapter number is wrong for this installment. (I've posted a report, so an admin might change it before you read this.) |

People who cannot smell the aldehydes and other chemicals in green bell peppers may think that they taste fine. To those who can smell them, they smell and taste like poison. Some rather arrogant people who cannot smell those chemicals mistakenly believe that they are merely bitter to those who dislike them, so that one could get used to them as to other bitter food. It is no better than ignorant cruelty to compel a child to eat green peppers. |

I read that because the soil is different in Japan it makes green peppers taste more bitter. Equivalent in US would be broccoli, which don't taste as bad in Asia. |

I only like Yellow ones raw, I dislike them all cooked. No exceptions that I've found. Life's too short eating shit you don't enjoy. Imo |

@Yamibi @RandomFacepalm Not only Japanese. I hate it and my mother hate it too. I hate how it smell. I don't really remember how it taste since I haven't eaten one since I was a kid. Children have a more sensitive sense of taste and smell than adults so there are things that adults can eat but children can't and it leaves a bad impression on them even until they are adults. If parents continue letting the kids eat those food, they will gradually get used to it. I do have a feeling that if I ate green pepper now, it would taste better than than I was a kid but don't want to take a gamble though. |

I'm still not a bell pepper person. But when you haven't eaten for nearly a day and are really hungry, it is amazing how easily these go down. I learned that from my military days. ? I'm still not fond of bell peppers, which is why I never buy them. But, when I go to a Japanese restaurant and get chicken or shrimp tempura with vegetable tempura, and bell peppers are in the vegetable tempura mix, I can eat them no problem. Ditto Chinese curry, which has a ton of green and red bell peppers. |

@princeofcups : It's not like they really dislike pepper. It's just seem that they decided to hate it (like a 5 years old). When you really dislike something you don't have to be told it's this. You know it when you eat it. |
