It would be kind of fked up if the heroine killed goblin actually. As far as i know, the heroine doesn't want to kill, she also seems isnt aware of monster' death. So if she was to kill goblin, her friend, then realize that she's gone for good, that would fk her mind up entirely.

I wouldn't quite say that; they could stop before death. In a more traditional match, it could be until being disarmed. (But still, given the context, it does look like they're talking about a fight to the death.)

Reminds me of a scene I came across a while back... one of the characters received a scabbard that was allegedly enchanted such that its wearer would never lose. "What's the catch?" "Dying isn't necessarily the same as losing."

I agree with @kuma. Quite a few subtle hints were thrown here and there - one of the important ones seem to me though that Granite knew what Wasabi was asking if Aki was an Angel, and that Aki's wish to defeating Wasabi is... something that can ever only occur once.

I wonder what those plot elements are going to lead to...
