But you see this kind of dance in media that depict's any kind of antiquated (for lack of a better term) setting often, or if whatever media aim's for a more "literary" style(again for lack of a better term). As for the face, musicians and performers tend to make faces that can be considered odd, just look up "guitar face". Though the face of the main character in the cover portrait just looks like a girl that has a deep enjoyment for dance to me, and I think anybody who's never meant a person with down' syndrome.

I did learn ballroom dancing and tap. I did think it's a dance of sort. It's not any sort of dance I'm aware of but then again, I'm not a professional dancer.

The reason why I said this is a girl with down syndrome making a chuuni pose was to inform of the ridiculousness of the pose. The reason why I said she looked like she had a down syndrome was because this particular cover with its facial expression and its pose reminded me of a classmate who had a down syndrome back in school.

I don't think it's a problem at all. The pose and color theme is really intriguing, and definitely stands out from other book covers. That and the name "Soloist of the Prison".
It made me want to know more about it. That's why it works.
An effective cover is not necessarily the best looking one, after all. Just one that captures your attention.

@Aichan The cover was unappealing to me too, maybe not so bad that I would call it a turnoff, but I decided to give it a read anyway because of the upvotes on reddit and my boredom. Didn't regret it at all, and now the cover looks fine as it fits nicely to the story and character.
Don't be so harsh on it just yet. Maybe give it a try and you can judge it later.
P.S. I would try a sausage that looks like shit if it smells good.

Of course I've heard of it, it's not like I never went to elementary school. I'm actually a literature graduate and have read many literary works that most people consider boring.

But a turn off is a turn off. Therefore, to push myself to try, I need someone to tell me why they like it. Some people refused to read all isekai because the genre itself is a turnoff for them. That's 'judging a book by its cover' too. Difference is, the cover (and not the genre) really is a turn off for me.

I'm talking about the pose. I'm sure the artist draws well, but the pose (and the face). The pose of the character on the cover is a turn off.
