Every time I see the nurse lady I feel like I have dumb questions about her anatomy that would be impolite to ask. Even just things like whether or not she even still has a human style digestive system, or if she's had to change her diet and uh waste expulsion habits.

Thirding the "thought about the Hounds of Tindalos" angle. But the fact that they seem to be safeguarding a cylindrical tunnel kinda ruins it- they specifically live " in the space between acute angles" .

Also, those dogs definitely remind me of the Hounds of Tindalos, those Lovecraftian beasties that can move through space and time. The passage they appear in seems like a cylinder, which seems to support this - they can't move through curved surfaces, only through angles.
