Is one of those cases where the inferior oponent is unable to gauge his oponent power properly and thinks that by just adding power he will be able to win. Problem is that MC outskill him so badly that it wont matter how much his stats rises if his oponent is still able to read and counter all of his moves. Its not a matter of being fast enough, its a matter of skill.

This is akin to Fate's Saber vs Sasaki Kojiro: Kojiro stats are garbage compared to Saber's, but his mastery with the blade is so superior that in the end it makes him the superior melee fighter of the two outside plot armor shaeningans
