The situation of the Sable family reminds me a bit of Lady Vivian from the kingdom of Visund (chapters 5 and onwards), another cat princess. A country where princesses are only valuable for political marriages, and they're treated like dirt if they can't secure a good husband.

This series is such a gem. It might not have the flashy elements but it has some of the nicest characters even if they are not unique.
