Reading this a second time because I was tired of waiting for updates and i was bored. Not sure if i said this before. Tomato should be regarded as a fruit because it has seeds. Naturally, chilli, cucumber, green pepper(?) are also fruits to me. |

Well at least it's not on the level of that other isekai, when the "superior japanese food" is prepacked industrial stuff she buys at the supermarket back in japan and then just heats it and somehow it's so freaking delicious. |

Weell, the japanese and their rice is a kinda unique love story. For a long period of time white rice(the japanese are riceists, cause other kinds of rice used to be considered inferior, and nowadays might prove hard to find) was considered a superior food, and that caused outbreaks of beriberi - thiamine deficiency, caused by malnutrition. 'ๅพก้ฃฏ'('gohan') in japanese mean both 'cooked rice' and 'meal'. The japanese in general are mostly oblivious about the outside world and most cuisine there gets a special japanese twist to it, so let's be lenient for now and see what happens next... |

I'm glad they didn't segue into rice and soy sauce straight away. Even though it still reeks of "enlightened chef provides manna to the peasants who cannot cook a simple meal", it's not that bad at the moment. |

How did they make bread before (hard or not) without yeast? It was clearly a loaf. |

I wonder what would happen to these isekai protagonists if the world they went to didn't have a rice equivalent. |

Saying Japanese cuisine is flavorful is probably the worst part. It's not bad, but it really isn't flavorful. Indian, Mexican, and Chinese? That's a fun time. Italian, like this chapter, too. But Japanese??? Nope |

@Askun the fact that they went with the pasta route rather than "Nippon rice, folded 1000 times" that also helps. |
